Execution of a high-quality school that embodies innovation and respect for the Montessori philosophy. The initial challenge was to adapt the space to follow its principles, which advocate for autonomy and learning through exploration. Every detail was carefully considered to create environments that promote children's curiosity and self-discipline. This project was based on the conversion and adaptation of an old warehouse, transforming it into a unique and inspiring educational space. By preserving the exterior architecture of the old warehouse, the school was seamlessly integrated into the urban fabric of Lisbon. The absence of windows led to the opening of window openings in the natural stone facade, allowing natural light to enter from outside. Being an area with high noise levels due to air traffic, it was necessary to invest in advanced thermal and acoustic insulation systems.
